Arrived at Tampere airport, not too inspiring with the customs officers probably reporting to work just for the flight then off to another job within the airport. The weather was ok and the first thing we did was to phone back to our left-behind members: E and I.
Both were trying to get another flight but we also found out that H's bag and two more of our plastic Peli cases were taken off the plane. In addition to E and I's kit (and their peli cases) - that's most of our equipment still in the UK.
Not a good start.
Exiting the airport - we discovered that there was no pickup so we waited with an impromptu game of happysac. I watched and took pictures and we waited for an hour before the coach arrived. Our accomodation was inside the training centre for FINCENT, the Finnish Peacekeeping force. The barracks were in the woods but it became clear to everyone that there wasn't enough room for all of us. T also noticed an individual here at the camp that he had a run in a few months ago in Africa. T was not happy and since her reputation preceeded her - neither were we.
Crashing on the floor in our packed rooms was not a good start to the day for me - especially with a snorer in the room. E and I finally arrived around midnight with the rest of the equipment.
