My hay-fever allergy is not getting any better but I have been glad about the weather which has been extremely hot. Have been watching with some delight over the squirming that Tony Blair has been under but I doubt it will damage his long term prospects; just maybe knock a little bit of humility into him. He has hit back at the critics by saying 'it's either me or the Tories' so therefore it means that I can do what I want. How true and what a crying shame that the UK does not have a viable opposition. We are indeed a one party state ruling over an indifferent population. Wonderful eh?
Pity that more Americans are dying in Iraq - looks like either we have a resistance movement starting or (more worryingly) a general turn to hostility of ordinary Iraqis to the American presence. The sooner they leave the better - I doubt whatever the government put in place will be accepted by the majority of the Iraqis and Western focus on such long-term country rebuilding programmes has been patchy at best; I mean look at Afghanistan - out of sight out of mind.
