Damn it is hot here. Yesterday was the hottest recorded in the UK and today is almost as high. While 37.4 degrees C may not strike those who live in tropical areas as being particularly hot - it is for the UK. Who says that global climate change hasn't arrived? While many argue that climatic cycles have variations and we are probably in one, it doesn't mean we can ignore what we are already doing to the environment.
The human life span is too short however to see the consequences of his actions - I doubt that the earth would burn up and run out of water in my lifetime and I guess many people therefore push this problem onto their descendants. So much for the concept of sustainability.
Anyway, I ran in a 10KM race too yesterday and that was so difficult - I had to fight to finish and stopped twice near the watering stations. While I kept up on my fluid intake the constant sun on my head didn't help. I should have poured the water over my head rather than drink it!
More of this weather to come and we better enjoy it - I bet you all that the winter will be brass monkeys.
