A long bank holiday weekend and I didn't do anything useful. Went out with family and ate lots so it wasn't too bad. The weather was quite variable though sunday was hot and muggy - not really perfect for the Notting Hill carnival but better than lots of rain.
My room clearance has not been too successful and it I seem to be slowing down as I examine each item from a room (no matter how small) and if it's a book I usually spend time reading it!!! Spent most of saturday morning wrestling with my new PC but finally got it to work. Doesn't shut down properly though.
The Hutton enquiry is churning along and I fear that the public has already lost interest. The 45 minute clause in my view is a distraction: one should be asking about the case for the war itself rather than who inserted what and who was responsible for sexing it up. If the Government comes out OK - does this mean that the war was justified? I think not but I am sure some will see that as an exoneration of the war by proxy.
The only 'winner' will be PM Blair methinks.
