Argghhhh - aching all over. My first competitive 10K cross country was sunday. Weather was great but the first K was straight uphill. No kidding, all uphill and I was shattered by the time I got to the top. Not to mention the majority of the other runners. I had trained for a 10K run but didn't anticipate starting such a run with a climb! the 3-6km stretch was relatively easy - but my legs felt like lead and I couldn't speed up to catch up with the leading pack. I finished around 54 minutes - 4 minutes longer than my target and 6 minutes over my pb. It was a lovely day though and I am eyeing up another 10K run in about a week.

Work is interesting as I have some time to tinker with a red hat linux box. It is running on a knackered DELL workstation (PII no less) but it appears to be ok. It will be my tinker machine methinks until the boss finds out.
