Spring and summer is here and I have noticed that many people around me are happier, more active and generally enjoying themselves more. Amazing thing sunshine and while the move of the clocks forward by one hour caused me some problems (I forgot), the effects have been good. I come home from work - tired but it is still light and I as put my words to this blog, the sun has just left the sky and things are glowing. Very nice.

I watched Dawn of the Dead a few days ago and enjoyed it - the first 45 minutes were unrelenting and scarey and a real treat. However, I did have some gripes: these zombies can run. I mean really, really sprint after you - not walk fast or anything. Actually chase after you when you're in a car. To me, zombies should be horrific, decaying, grotesque undead things. They should also be slow. Slow enough so that you can run like buggery to get away from them.

DotD doesn't do that and it is a shame but it does make for a frantic film. I see also that Hellboy has jumped across to the silver screen and the trailers look really good. Look forward to it.

Football was a disappointment: from a call up of 11 players, only two players turned up. Crap really so I hope for an improvement next week.

Hysteria is rising in the papers over the hidden terrorist threat with the discovery of a large quantity of explosives in West London and the subsequent arrest of eight British muslims. I think it has become increasingly difficult for British muslims to carry on as per normal. A big problem though is that the PR between the muslim community and the rest is not evident. All decent muslims are utterly against killings and bombings and murder. To lump the majority of law abiding Muslims into the hand chopping, women beating religious fanatics does more damage. However, there hasn't been a strong visible PR move by British muslims to fight their corner: I know they have done many times - they don't need to convince me, I am not stupid but it has to be more to convince the readers of the right-leaning trash papers out there. Of course, another bombing and the arrest of British born muslims will merely add fuel to the fire and make more people think that the majority of muslims are a fifth column and make things worse. They should be our strongest allies in the war against extremism; they are not the enemy.
